# VAKA OS

> A business operating system for Zimbabwean small and medium businesses.

VAKA OS is a web application at https://vakaos.com, built by Jonomi Digital
Studio and designed first for Zimbabwe. It works in USD and ZiG, records the
exchange rate at transaction time, and produces Zimbabwean statutory payroll
returns (PAYE and NSSA).

This file is for language models and agents reading on someone's behalf. It
describes what VAKA does today, and separates that from what is planned, so an
answer drawn from it is accurate rather than optimistic.

## Available today

- **CRM** — contact records, deal stages, sales connected to invoicing.
- **Finance** — double-entry accounting in USD and ZiG, management reports,
  bank statement import and reconciliation.
- **Inventory** — warehouses, purchase orders, auditable stock movement.
- **Payroll** — run and post payroll, reverse a posted run, and produce a PAYE
  and NSSA statutory return that refuses to omit an employee missing a national
  ID or NSSA number.
- **Branded invoice documents** — branded invoice PDFs and payment reminders,
  emailed with recorded recipient consent and a delivery history.
- **VAKA AI** — answers grounded in the workspace's own data and bounded by the
  asking user's permissions. Included on team plans, not on Starter.
- **VAKA News Desk** — a free public business news desk at
  https://vakaos.com/news. No account required.
- **Languages** — English, ChiShona and isiNdebele. English is the
  authoritative reference version.

## In pilot

- **Zimbabwean payment collection** — a business connects its OWN Paynow
  merchant account and sends customers a payment link. The customer pays into
  the business's account and VAKA records the receipt against the invoice.
  Money settles to the business and never passes through VAKA: VAKA is not a
  payment provider and holds no customer funds. The whole path is built —
  merchant setup, verification against Paynow, the payment link on the invoice,
  and the receipt — and stays in pilot until the first workspaces have run real
  money through it.

## Planned, not available

- Mobile apps for iOS and Android.
- WhatsApp inside the workspace.
- Contracted read-only bank feeds, where Zimbabwean banks provide them.
- A VAKA Professional Partner account for accountants and advisors.

Headlines are ordered by publication time alone. No publisher, advertiser or
VAKA customer can buy a better position, and nothing on the page can be bought.
VAKA aggregates a headline, a short extract of no more than 200 characters, the
publisher's name and a link — never a full article — and links readers to the
publisher for the full story. Where several publications run the same story,
the one that published first is shown and the others are named beneath it.
Some publishers permit an extract; others are linked by headline only, at their
request, and VAKA records which.
